The requirement

In a mammoth project, the mass transit Railway in Hong Kong by the operator MTR Corporation limited is expanded it‘s railway network.
Due to the transport of persons, the highest safety requirements also apply within all buildings of the MTR. Not only is a strict separation of passengers and workers required but also an access limitation within the scope of the individual safety access. Furthermore, synchronization and redundancy concepts need to ensure operational readiness throughout several component levels.

The solution

At the end of a more than one year‘s selection process, Grant & Guard, with the authoritative participation of Drakos GmbH (supplier of access management systems) was selected as a solution for the internal „Security Access Management System“, briefly SAMS. Afterwards, the compulsory multi-day audit to the software development process was passed also.

For access control, devices of the German company Datafox were selected that excelled with regard to the implementation of the necessary hardware requirements. In cooperation with the general contractor Cambaum, China ‚s leading provider of access systems and billing systems in person transport, the project was successfully implemented over the continental borders.
